THAILAND : ---Today the National council for peace and order (NCPO)to reform Thai Government Lottery Office to 80 baht per pair, instead of 100-120 baht per pair.

But most lottery vendors said they could not sell at the controlled price of 80 baht because the lottery ticket came to them at the rate of 90 baht,so if they sell at 80 baht, then they could expect huge loss and might give up business.

This is the first time in Bangkok and Thailand as awhole for things like this to happen.

Today is the begining of the (GLO) Government Lottery Office issues the new batch of lottery tickets for 16 july draw.

Any discrepancies in pricing will be severely dealt with especially at the main distribution locations such as Kok Wua intersection and in front of Sanam Bin Nam district office.

Agents or wholesalers will have their quotas forfeited if they fail to comply with the GLO's price restriction.

The controller General Department meanwhile, has emphasized all relevant department to strictly control prices set by retailers and vendors throughout the country.

Thai lottery draw was yesterday and many vendors dumped prices to 70-80 baht for the first time in many years.

The reason for yesterday dumped price was that people fearing of buying the missing lottery tickets declared void by the GLO which threatened to take legal action against anyone who bought the tickets and happened to win prizes.

From now on, the retail price must not be more than 80 baht per pair and any overpricing will face fine of 20,000baht or one month jail.
