Explosion at ancient market


Ang Thong :A 100-year-old ancient market in Wises Chaicharn district of Ang Thong province heavy explosion injured 17 people on Saturday morning.

The three storey shop selling Buddhist worship items exploded heavily 17 people were wounded, four were seriously injured.

Nobody was killed and all were sent to Ang Thong Hospital Wises Chaicharn police chief Pol Col Peerapan Janthian said. Six other adjacent shop houses including a Thanachart Bank branch, and several cars and motorcycles.

The explosion caused a small fire but was put out later by fire machines. 

Damaged shop belongs to Mrs Suthathip Atamasitikul said she was sitting inside the shop when a thunderous explosion was heard.

All glass windows and showcases were shattered, she said when she came out, she saw so many people were lying injured.

 Forensic police were called in to inspect the scene to find clue to the damage.

 Police said the explosion happened at the shop owned by Mrs Atchara Kitcharoienrungroj, the shop opened business as usual and since it was in the busy market.
