Peoples debts for May drop by 51.3 billion baht








THAILAND - Government for the Public, Ms Chularat Sutheethorn, director of the Office of Public Debts Management, on Monday said that, debts for the month of May dropped by 51.3 billion baht to 5.53 trillion baht compared to April,

The total public debts in May constituted 45.9 percent of growth domestic product.

Of the 5.53 trillion baht in public debts, 3.9 trillion baht were owed by the government, 1.08 trillion baht by state enterprises which are not financial institutions, 531 billion baht by state enterprises which are financial institutions and 3,652 million baht by other state agencies.

And of the 51.3 billion baht in debt reduction, 49.5 billion baht are of the government, 251 million baht are of state enterprises which are financial institutes and 2,197 million baht are of other state agencies.

However, the debts of state enterprises which are not financial institutions increased by 671 million baht in May compared to a month earlier.
