Extra holiday August 11 Central bank declares

BANGKOK - Central Bank of Thailand today announced Monday August 11 an extra holiday for financial institutions.

The central bank said the announcement of the extra holiday in advance will enable the private sector to adjust itself and will not affect the country’s monetary and economic systems.

Although the extra holiday will be a public holiday, commercial banks can still open their branch offices at some department stores to service customers on that day same as at weekends, with regard to giving adequate care to their staff working on that extra holiday.
