Malaysian Police Officers To Based In The Netherlands, Ukraine

MALAYSIA : -- Three police officers would be based in the Netherlands and Ukraine to follow up with the investigation and meetings pertaining to the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH17 crash, according to New Straits Times.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said an officer based in London has been sent to Kiev to be on standby and to attend meetings.

He said: “The officer has been sent there and he will be attending meetings that will provide regular updates on the situation whilst we will be sending another two officers to be placed in Eindhoven and Amsterdam.”
Khalid had just returned from leading the 68-man team that left to Ukraine to carry out investigations at the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH17 ‎crash site.

Flight MH17 was downed in eastern Ukraine on July 17, and on board were 298 passengers including crew members. It was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam when the plane was believed to have been shot down by a missile.

Khalid said the team that returned to Malaysia today was the last batch and if need be, they would be dispatched to Ukraine again.
